Hello,

I would like to export contacts from a 2.27 install and import into version 4 install of CIVICRM. Is this possible?

First, I'm not a very strong user of CiviCRM that said I only use Civi for the Contibute module and only need to retain the contacts entered thru donations (it would be good to retain the donation infos as well... but not necessary)

I can't seem to find an export function in version 2 but I see the import function... it must be there somewhere...

Assuming its there will it import correct from that old version?

The upgrade process seemed overwelling so I though a clean install and import of would be easier.

It may well be easier to do export/import as you suggest. To export, do a Contact Search with no parameters--just go to the search page and search without typing anything in. That should return all contacts.

Then one of the choices in the select box at the top of the results should be Export or Export as CSV.
