Hi,

Is it possible to have Civicrm provide a contact form for a website so that all contacts are maintained in teh same database as those collected with the contribute form or imported from a list?

The idea here is we could use Civi to send out mailings to a unified list and we would like to include website contact form submission in that...

The contact form would need to send a confirmation email. 

Info:  Civi v4 and D7 are being used.

YOu might want to look in to what the webform-civicrm module can do.

It can utilise checksums so people using it can use a special link and have forms pre-filled.

You can then get webform to email out confirmations/notifications to the user/admins and or create CiviCRM Activities to do the same.

I set up CiviCRM a few years ago for a client but never really used it... I have to re-learn everything about again...

Yeah,  CiviCRM Contact module does exactly that.  Love it.  Nothing to configure.

I also see that there is a Civi Webform Module that also syncs to Civi but its much more in depth. But I won't need that right now so I'm a happy camper.
