Social tools on donate page breaks SSL
May 08, 2012, 09:38:42 pm
Hi gang,

I'm using Drupal 7.14 and Civi 4.1.2.

On a donate page with "Social tools" enabled, Chrome puts that yellow symbol over the lock (instead of a solid green lock) and other browsers, if you check security it says something along the lines of "this page is only partially secure." Turning off the social tools and then clearing Chrome browser cache brings back the green lock.

It's late and I can't poke through the code right now, but I'm guessing the scripts used for the donation page from Facebook, Twitter, and Google simply need to point to https instead of http. Those scripts typically are on secure servers and can be accessed either way.

Great job with this stuff. I'm excited about showing my client how cool this functionality is.

Check  out http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-9886 for a solution. It's a shame that didn't find its way into 4.1.2
