Gift Aid module - import of custom data and profile failed
May 09, 2012, 02:47:09 pm
Hi,

Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place - I haven't been able to find anyone else with a similar query so I wasn't sure exactly where to ask for help!

I've downloaded and installed the CiviCRM Gift Aid module. I'm working through the instructions at the Gift Aid module wiki (sorry, it won't let me post the link, even though it's to another civicrm [dot] org page!) but it has fallen over at step 3 because the import script is claiming not to like my username and password - even though I have entered them into the URL correctly. The instructions only state that the URL provided "should work" but don't offer any suggestions if it doesn't!

Is there any other way to import the custom data and profile? It seems as though I can't continue unless this step is completed. Alternatively, any ideas which username and password it might be expecting, if my own aren't working? There are various mysql db passwords, but I wouldn't expect to need to use these in this context?

Thanks in anticipation!

Cath

1. ensure that this is a valid drupal username and password

2. Might want to make sure the username password dont have any "html interpreted" characters. Specifically check that there is no & or ? in those strings

3. If the above does not work, the easiest might be for u to try and debug import.php and see what is happening and why

We do hope to make giftaid a CMS agnostic module via this MIH:

http://civicrm.org/participate/mih#cmsagnostic

and hence improve on the install process :)

Just to say that this import worked for me as per instructions.
