New Dedupe rules created with blank titles, cannot edit, get WSOD

Howdy.

Probably after upgrade of 4.1.1 to 4.1.2, although possibly before (haven't touched the rules in a few weeks) there were several blank title rules created.

Upon saving, these rules produce a WSOD, however the changes do 'take' and are saved.

Weird.  Even after renaming the rules, the editing/saving problem persists.

Anyone seen this?

Error logs: nothing in CiviCRM.log, nothing in debug, nothing useful in drupal watchdog table only this:

In the PHP server error log I found this:

UPDATE.  Solution found.  Missing code.  Details and patch here:
