Cashnet Checkout
May 16, 2012, 09:56:00 pm
I'm interested in paying for someone to develop a module/plugin/whatever for CiviCRM to use the Cashnet Checkout.  This is for a public university that  uses Cashnet and does not allow other options.   We are new to CiviCRM and have only played with it.  But we see the Cashnet Checkout as the main thing that's holding us up.

Our web site currently runs Joomla 1.5.  We are planning a switch to WordPress.  How we would work this Cashnet Checkout thing would be important in developing a transition/migration plan.

I am handy with  a lot of WordPress things myself, and have learned more Joomla 1.5 than I hoped to learn, but am not a good person to do PHP coding.   I am pretty sure it would be more efficient to hire this work.

(We have not picked a developer to do the WordPress design that we would want done, when it comes to that.  I'm thinking of that as a separate project, but I'm just saying...  Getting into something of that magnitude will require us to do competitive bids; I presume the Cashnet Checkout itself would not be a big enough project to require that.)

I'd be glad for whatever is developed for Cashnet Checkout to be contributed to the community as an open source project, or however such things are done.  I presume our needs are not very specialized so that what's done would apply only to us, but I don't know that for sure.

I hope I'm not making this sound like the project from hell, but am not even sure if I'm going about asking in the right way.   I presume that if anyone is interested we'd then have more things to discuss.  Maybe some of it could be discussed on this forum if it's of general interest.
