Multi-record Custom field isn't working in Drupal 7 + CiviCRM 4.1
May 19, 2012, 04:03:28 pm
Hola a todos! (in English below)

Hi CiviCRM's guys!
I've configured Custom Fields with Multi-record options, following all steps as manuals says, however it isn't working: These Custom Fields don't appear into Form for Creation and Edit Contact (any type).

I thougth this error could be due a mistake in my installation. For this reason, I've reproduced this issue in two Drupal 7 sandbox of CiviCRM: drupal.demo.civicrm.org y sandbox.drupal.civicrm.org, where I created same example (as you can probe): "Multi-records test", who isn't working too.

How can I solve this issue?
A lot of thanks in advance!
cheers,

NOTE: I'm preparing CiviCRM for a non-profit organization in NZ, what  focuses it effort to give support to NZ Government for issues & problems of Latinamerican people (refugees and immigrants).

About: Multi-record Custom field isn't working in Drupal 7 + CiviCRM 4.1

I'm continuing my research for a resolution to this issue.
Today, looking for some evidences with to orientate my researching, in sandbox.drupal.civicrm.org I've can edit a "multi-record Custom Field" in a Contact through "View Contact"  form. Here I've edited "multi-field" data.

It's not the best way to introduce "multi-record" data, However, it give me a way to follow to build a solution.

Hola,

Sorry your post got missed.  What you experienced was the expected behaviour.  There are a few restrictions for multi-record custom data and you encountered a couple of them

Multi-record custom data cannot currently be displayed inline (only in a tab) and hence it cannot be created when a contact is created or edited when the summary page is edited.  You need to navigate to the tab to add / edit field to these sets.

There are currently a few other restrictions on multi-record custom data that you should probably be aware of (including that they cannot be easily exposed to the public, etc.)  Before you go too far down that path, you might want to outline your use case here so that people can comment on it.

PS. I don't think that the spanish speaking civicrm community is big enough at the moment to guarantee answers in spanish. if you can speak english you might be better off asking in another forum board like 'using civicrm' or 'pre-installation questions'.
