Civi 4.1.1,

I have an event with 60 registrations, all participant_status=registered.

When I go through export-participants I get a list of 80 contacts.

Of the duplicates, I've noticed that most of the pairs are completely identical, except for the phone numbers.

John Doe 123 Main St Apt 3 New York NY 10001 212346789
John Doe 123 Main St Apt 3 New York NY 10001 432223426

Maybe a problem in the query, not collapsing multiple contact phone numbers?

if you have access to the db can you check for that Contact ID and see if both numbers are set to primary? this may not show on the Summary screen but will show in the DB.

If that is the problem then here is another case of needing to be able to identify and resolve this type of problem of duplicate primary.

if not ....... do they have the same Participant ID or are there actually two Participant records for them?

You are correct sir!

civicrm_phone for a duplicate entry of revealed two phone numbers with is_primary set to 1.

Sounds like part of a bigger issue, what's the story?
