I had this problem on a site that was running CiviDiscount 2.5 on CiviCRM 4.4.6(?). After the update to 4.5.5, the CiviDiscount link on the menu was broken (if you look at the link, it has underscores in it). After updating to the "stock" 3.0 under Manage Extensions, it worked. I know there are some issues with discounts for Events/Memberships that don't use price sets, but at least in this case, I'm OK for now.

I, too, am looking forward to a time when there are a more manageable number of branches/forks of CiviDiscount.

I wish I were qualified, or I'd be happy to help. My last comment wasn't intended as a dig, and I hope it wasn't interpreted that way. I've got two clients relying on CiviDiscount quite heavily and it's been a bit of a challenge to figure out whether to use the "stock" or something from the main or Eileen McNaughton's git repository. I'm more confused than frustrated. It's holding up an overdue upgrade to 4.5 for one client.

I can certainly help with QA and debugging and would like to get more involved with Civi releases.

The one in my repo was only ever intended for 4.4 because my changes were merged into core for 4.5 but only partially for 4.4 - so I was left unable to use core for 4.4 & wound up with a fork.

My fork should work with 4.5 as I developed against master -but I don't recommend my fork for 4.5 - because it was never intended for that. I hope to revert to the main fork for 4.6 when I upgrade to it (am skipping 4.5) but there were some differences last I checked in terms of whether discounts are cumulative etc so expect to spend some time checking before I consider upgrading any CiviDiscount using sites off 4.4.
