Tracking contributions by email
May 27, 2012, 10:55:16 pm
I've set up a contribution form, and I want to be able to send an email to an administrative user whenever someone has filled out this contribution form.

I know how to generate and email a report of people that have completed this form "this day", but not on how to automatically email this generated report every day/time someone fills in this form.

I've looked through the documentation but I can't find a way to do this. Any ideas?

I'm using drupal civicrm version 3.4

Thanks

Kurund Jalmi

Have you checked thank you and receipting section for contribution page? You can specify cc and bcc email address when contribution receipt is sent.

The receipting hasn't been set up, so that looks like it could be the work around, I'll discuss with the client (this is a website that I inherited, so I'm not familiar with the original thought process of the person who set this up or civicrm)

But, I've noticed that already, when people fill the form out, it does send a confirmation email that looks like this:

-

Please print this confirmation for your records.
Membership Information
*copy of all information that was inputted*

-

My ideal solution would be having that email, so that it is bcc'd to the admin person is the ideal solution, rather than generating multiple emails, as that would contain the information the Admin person requires, but it doesn't look like this is an actual setting?

Looking through the forum, I've found this topic,
http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=21884.0

which suggests that there is a template that controls this, but I've looked through the contribution and contact email forms and haven't seen something that indicates that it deals specifically with this.

I think I may of found where that message originates in the workflow settings, although I still don't know how to set a BCC setting, I'll try looking through documentation, although if anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate them!

The solution provided in the first reply worked great - I misunderstood that it was going to send another email, instead it was changing the default email settings of the contribution page.

All resolved now.
