didn't have confirm msg when upload a file with profile of event registeration
May 29, 2012, 05:00:47 am
We have a field for file upload, but when enable this field in profile of event register page, the "confirm step" didn't show anything even if we have upload a file.

And further, confirm email didn't show that too. So after a few of participant registered, they also emailed to ask if their file upload successfully.

I tried to looked into the core, but what I saw just ignore the upload field shown up when in the confirm step. Do anyone have good suggestion for use, and for modified code?

Hi Lono,

I tested at drupal.demo.civicrm.org today. The behavior is the same as 3.x

ok, now i remember the issue :)

the main problem is the "quickform file upload" field does not implement the "freeze" (used for view only) fields. we do a freeze and display the frozen fields on the confirm page and hence the file upload does not show up :(

A workaround would be to do something special for file upload and handle it outside the profile view code

Could you help point out correct way to implement that?

Do I need to modify package/HTML/Quickform/file.inc ? Or I should change code in ContributionBase.php like
Code: [Select]
                    if ( $viewOnly &&
                         isset( $field['data_type'] ) &&
                         $field['data_type'] == 'File' || ( $viewOnly && $field['name'] == 'image_URL' ) ) {
                        // ignore file upload fields
                        continue;
                    }
