We have just sent a mass email to a smart group which also contains some Added members. There are 244 people in the smart group, 16 of whom have no email address and 2 of whom have opted out of all mailings. Page 2 of the mailing process shows 200 intended recipients and this is borne out by the mailing report. There are no other 'Do not mail' people in the groups.

I have no idea how to assess which individuals it went to and therefore to discover which 26 people didn't receive it... and why.  Is there anywhere I can check that?  Any other thoughts as to why the numbers don't match up?  Thanks very much.

There is a feature request in to link all the recipients to a popup paginated list of contacts and email address

Would be good if you can get one of your developers to work on that feature. I suspect its a good project to get started on

Hi Lobo
They're currently working on an attendance module (in lieu of my failed MIH), but I'll add it to the list!  We did have a similar issue a while back with Civimail which was bizarrely resolved by going into each individual record, editing and saving it.  This seemed to bump up the email recipients number (and also made some people appear who'd previously been left off a mailing label pdf).  Any idea as to why that might have been the case?  It's a laborious but if it'll solve the issue I may get someone onto it.

Oh... and is there ever any chance that 'Send email to contacts' could be up to 100 rather than 50, or is 50 always likely to be the absolute limit? (Most of our groups are 50-100 and I'd love the group leaders to be able to use the Send Email option)

1. Dont know what your mailing issue is. Someone will need to investigate and figure it out

2. With regard to the limit, ideally this should be a setting with a default value of 50. A site admin can change it if they so desire. Should be a relatively easy project to implement and migrate that value to a setting

Thanks for the advice lobo, we'll certainly look into raising the 'Send Email' number a little to accommodate our needs.

For anyone landing on this topic who are having similar prob...

I was getting much fewer recipients for bulk emails than the number of contacts in the group I was supposedly sending to.

Turns out contacts with 'NULL' for is_deceased were excluded, and problem resolved when set them all to '0' (except those who were already '1').

If that doesn't fix it for others, I'd be checking the other opt in/out fields for NULLs...
