Prospects versus Contacts?

I'm wondering if there is a way to create a separate area for "prospects" as opposed to "contacts" - or perhaps "visitors" as opposed to "contacts." We have folks who are (a) visitors, (b) regular attenders, and (c) members. I don't particularly want folks having to browse through visitors when they want info. on regular attenders or members.

Who's "browsing" - the public, other members, staff ?? What actions are they taking on contacts? Approach depends on more specific info on the use case(s) and workflows needed.

Hi,

You have several (too many? ;) ways of segmenting your contacts, you can use groups, tags, contact types, custom fields...

As Dave said, depends what you want to do with the segments, you might want to try several of these options and decides which one you find the most useful

Thanks, I'll take a look at these options and see which might fit in our case. The individuals viewing the records would be volunteer staff.
