Setting up shift registration
May 29, 2012, 04:37:31 pm
Hi,

I'm looking for advice more than anything else.

Currently, we're hosting an event that requires multiple shifts to be filled. A 3-day event that will have 6 shifts on each day.

I'm struggling to think of a way to best option that to the user without confusing them while making it possible for them to pick more than one date and time during which they will be available to volunteer.

Because right now, attached is what it looks like:

Any advice appreciated.

Thank you.

i would at least do a different field for each of the 3 days to clean up the options

What about setting it  up as a conference type event with each shift being a slot? That way you can set how many people can register for each slot and they can select multiple slots.

The conference idea would be great. Not sure where to start with that. Any way you can point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

I ended up doing this - Advanced Multi-select. It works since this is going to be very short notice for these people and I don't have the time to explore much more before this email goes out.

But, I am still very interested in pursuing the conference setup idea for future events. So any direction there is appreciated.

Thank you.

I've never set up the conference thing so not quite sure how to do it. maybe someone who has done it can explain it.
