CiviEvent - using Participant Custom fields in Profile
February 23, 2008, 07:58:52 pm
Hi All,

Did anyone try using custom fields in profile in civievent participant record? (CiviCrm version 1.9)

Just for testing, I created a participant custom group that has two text fields 'Booth Name', 'Start/End Time' so an event volunteer can be assigned a booth and time. This shows up correctly in participant record.

I also created a participant profile that has few fields along  with above two custom fields.

I tried to update the selected participants using 'Batch update via Profile' and entered values in custom fields. When I looked at individual participant records I didn't see any value that I entered using profile. When I went back to profile I saw the values of custom fields I entered.

Then I updated a participant record by entering value (without using profile) in custom field. Somehow I couldn't see that value using batch update using profile. In fact the previously entered value in custom field was disappeared.

Is this a known issue or I am doing something wrong?

Is there any alternative?

Regards,
-K.Das

Can you run the below tests on our demo server and see if you can reproduce the issues. If so, can you please file an issue

thanx

I've recreated part of this issue (existing custom field values not showing up in Batch Update grid) - and posted a bug report:
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2736

... I did NOT see the obverse of this - e.g. when I set a custom field value via Batch Update, I WAS able to see that value when viewing the individual's participant record (from Contact Summary >> Events tab).
