Link to export contacts file
February 24, 2008, 03:03:40 am
Hello,

We're not looking at using CiviMail for our mail outs at this stage (technical and training reasons) so I'd like our admin people  to be able to download the Mailing list in csv format. CiviCRM allows this but what I would really like is for them to be able to click on single link and get a csv export of the saved field mapping (e-mails only) for the smart group (excluding opted out & 'do not e-mail' individuals). They are pretty basic users.

I tried to configure the csv download and capture the url but I couldn't manage. What is the best approach?

NB - is it by design that in the standard Smart Group page you can't specify the user OPT out status? (you can get it in the Search Builder which is a great feature)

MS Word. That's how we have been doing it until now.

I'd like to set up civiMAIL - mostly for the automated opt out but will not be able to do it straight away

You might want to consider using CiviSMTP. Its really cheap and makes using civimail quite painless. They have a rapidly expanding customer base and becoming the civimail provider of choice :)

u can search on the forums for more details etc
