Discrepancy between Donor Report and Advanced Search Results

When using the Donor Report (Details) to find contacts who belong to Group X, and made a contribution in the date range Y - Z, 9 contacts (and their contributions) are listed.

When I query the exact same parameters using Advanced Search, 15 contacts are listed.

I have double-checked every field at work and cannot account for the discrepancy.

Please, any ideas/suggestions?
