Personal Campaign Pages Error: "Profile is not configured with Email address."

hi - experiencing an error which i believe has a simple fix, but i am out of ideas and options. has anyone experienced a "Profile is not configured with Email address." error message in a Personal Campaign Page context? i have:

: successfully enabled PCP for an event
: successfully test registered for the event (with a valid email)
: successfully configured a "Supporter" profile (with a valid email)
: checked related contacts for email permissions problems
: debugged any SMTP issues

attached screencap is my result upon clicking my "Promote this event with a personal campaign page" (PCP) button.
