Trouble when moving CiviCRM to a new location on same server
May 31, 2012, 03:33:44 pm
I am trying to move Drupal6/CiviCRM 4.1.1 from a subdirectory under the webroot to the webroot. The Drupal move is working OK but I have been unable to get Civi CRM working in the new location.

I have followed the instructions on the steps required to move CiviCRM but am getting this error when I try to perform any CiviCRM action:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'XML data could not be loaded. Make sure you specified the correct path.' in /home/pobfsjv/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/IDS/Filter/Storage.php:220 Stack trace: #0 /home/pobfsjv/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/IDS/Filter/Storage.php(111): IDS_Filter_Storage->getFilterFromXML() #1 /home/pobfsjv/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/IDS/Monitor.php(189): IDS_Filter_Storage->__construct(Object(IDS_Init)) #2 /home/pobfsjv/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/IDS.php(142): IDS_Monitor->__construct(Array, Object(IDS_Init)) #3 /home/pobfsjv/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Core/Invoke.php(91): CRM_Core_IDS->check(Array) #4 /home/pobfsjv/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/drupal/civicrm.module(352): CRM_Core_Invoke::invoke(Array) #5 [internal function]: civicrm_invoke() #6 /home/pobfsjv/public_html/includes/menu.inc(349): call_user_func_array('civicrm_invoke', Array) #7 /home/pobfsjv/public_html/index.php(17): m in /home/pobfsjv/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages/IDS/Filter/Storage.php on line 220

I have checked as much as I can but am unable to solve this issue. Any help would be appreciated to get this production site functioning again.

Cheers

I found the solution to this in another post. I deleted the folder sites/all/files/civicrm/ConfigAndLog and that solved the problem.

Once I managed to search with the right terms the solution was easily found.

This happened to me when I was migrating my CiviCRM 4.1.x / Drupal 6.x site from one server to another to a different root directory.

Deleting the ConfigAndLog folder which btw is in:

/sites/default/files/civicrm/ConfigAndLog

absolutely worked.

Thanks so much Martin!

Thanks for the correction to the file path. I have no idea how I managed to get that wrong.
