Installing multilingual CiviCRM
June 04, 2012, 04:57:35 am
Is there any guide simply on INSTALLING TRANSLATION FILES in order to achieve a multilingual CiviCRM on a Joomla CMS?

I have searched under all sorts of terms and every explanation asks me if I want to get involved in translation, gives all sorts of tips on how to manage the translations but nothing tells me how to actually install the language files.

Hi,

There are some docs here, under "User Language (Translations)":
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC41/CiviCRM+Localisation

In short, you need to download the civicrm-1l0n.tar.gz, uncompress it and copy it to the correct directory (civicrm/l10n). Then you will be able to go to admin > localization and set the correct language.
