Where to change error message
June 05, 2012, 08:45:33 am
Can someone point me in the right direction to change the error message generated when a user tries to register using an email that already exists.

It currently says: "This email <...> is already registered. Please select another email"

And I want it to say: "This email <...> is already registered. Please select another email or request a new password".

I'm using Drupal 6 and CiviCRM 4.1.2

Many thanks to the 'usual suspects' who spend so much time helping out on these boards! I hope the time will come when I can contribute and not just ask
:-)

It's defined here http://svn.civicrm.org/civicrm/branches/v4.1/CRM/Utils/System/Drupal6.php as

Code: [Select]
This email %1 is already registered. Please select another email.
You can use the Word Replacement feature to replace that text: http://book.civicrm.org/user/initial-set-up/customizing-the-user-interface

Thanks Hershel - much obliged :-)

...realised I should change the terminology in my original post from "usual suspects" to "usual heroes" - I hope no one took it any way other than as a -clumsy- attempt to express my appreciation for the unstinting support so freely given by people like Hershel and others who are always on hand to help out and point newbies like me in the right direction.

My pleasure. I think your intention was clear, not to worry. :)
