RIght version for Drupal 6
June 06, 2012, 01:03:00 pm
OK, I'm confused (the motto of the 21st century). I see one set of warnings that Civi 4.n only works on Drupal 7.n. But someplace else (Sourceforge?), I see "civicrm-4.1.3-drupal6.tar.gz". When I download, unpack, and upload this  to sites|all|modules, it seems to work right, but when I go to ....civicrm/upgrade?reset+1, I get a screen that just says "Array".
Sourceforge isn't much help. It says " Looking for the latest version? Download for Drupal 7 ONLY. See Files > Stable for Drupal 6, Joomla and WordPress. (11.0 MB) ", but no sign of how to get to "Files > Stable....".
It does list a version that is only 10 hours old (Fresh Meat! Yum!) but that seems to be the D7 version.
At least none of this gives me the WSOD, which happened yesterday (still don't know why).
Anyway, suggestions and/or links to a D6 download much appreciated.

Still confused. I found that I had been working with Civi 4.1.2.
Erased that, loaded 4.1.3.
Found a newer set of upgrade instructions and followed them. That included changing the civi.settings file to specify Drupal6. Did that.
Ran the specified update page. Everything went well.
Tried to access Civi from within Drupal via Administrative Menu.
WSOD.
Supper break, and maybe some prayer for serenity.

I have just downloaded and successfully installed the latest CiviCRM 4.13 on my Drupal 6.25 site.

Here is the link for the download:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/civicrm/files/civicrm-stable/4.1.3/civicrm-4.1.3-drupal6.tar.gz/download

and here is the link for the detailed and clear instructions:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+Drupal+Sites+to+4.1+-+Drupal+6

Good luck :-)

I see one set of warnings that Civi 4.n only works on Drupal 7.n.

Probably you saw that because you took the D7 version of CiviCRM. Because the D6 version of CiviCRM 4.1.3 (and all previous 4.x versions) work ONLY on Drupal 6 actually. :)

Thanks for the replies. I did download and install the correct version of 4.1.3, ran the update procedure, and it seemed to work, but still get the WSOD. I checked the new installation instructions and didn't find anything I did wrong (although the new cron procedure may work better than what I have now).
It's acting like Civi can't find it's database, either from the old Administrative Menus button or a URL. I haven't changed DB names or paths, and the original civicrm.settings.php seems to be correct.
I will probably try another install/update and if that doesn't work, try again as a new install where I specify the DB paths manually. Come to think of it, if I rename the civicrm.settings.php so civi can't find it, it should treat itself like a new install and let me do the manual specification.
