I would like to change the default text when a registration (contribution) profile is displayed for membership signup. See the attached image. I would like to change the text:

Quote

Your preferred username; punctuation is not allowed except for periods, hyphens, and underscores.

Can you tell me where to change this text? Using Joomla 2.5.4 and CiviCRM 4.1.2.

See if the Word Replacement admin feature will handle this (not sure - but easiest approach). Give it the entire string of text, and what you want to replace with.

Otherwise, that text is stored in templates/CRM/common/CMSUser.tpl

Recommend creating custom copy of the template rather than modifying the core version. Check developer guide for info on customized templates.
