Error when completing membership

Hi.

I have just installed CiviCRM and configured the membership and contribution sections as per the "book" guide.

After checkout, I am receiving the following error:

500 - Passed array does not specify a callable static method

Is anybody able to assist with this problem please?

A few other folks have reported this issue, so seems like something is amiss here.

Any chance you can take a look and try to figure out what is happening and where? Maybe isolate which function the above message is generated in etc

Would be happy to, but wouldn't know where to start unfortunately.  I downloaded CiviCRM last night and this is my first day trying to get it to work.  Seems like exactly the software I have been looking for, very comprehensive, just a couple of issues preventing its use.

It happens immediately after receiving clicking "continue" on this screen: http://www.server.com/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contribute/transact&Itemid=210&_qf_Confirm_display=true&qfKey=<removed> so suspect it is related to the sending of the confirmation email.

Seems to be related to the PDF attachment.  I turned that option off, now membership completes perfectly.  PDF is a "nice to have", but not essential for me.  Thanks.
