Event Page in Wordpress
June 15, 2012, 10:35:13 am
Hi,

I created an event in CiviCrm and it automatically creates a page in wordpress. How do I choose what that page looks like? For instance, I don't want my homepage slider on that page, but Civi automatically put it on there. Where do I find the settings for this?

Thanks,

David

There are no settings for this in civi. We just use the default WP theme to display all the pages. You might want to check if you can control it via the theme. Alternatively you can use shortcodes and see if that helps

Hi there,

i am having the same issue. Shortcodes work fine, however, when i click on the "register now" it will take me to the registration page, which will use the layout of my home page..... :(

is it possible to define the pages? ??? ???

can you see if you can get the same behavior on wordpress.demo.civicrm.org?

this one seems to work fine and stays with the shortcode

Hi lobo thanks for your reply,

Yes your demo is fine, but the difference is that i am using a static page as my 'front page' instead of the usual 'latest post'

If you see the url that is generated is taking the index.php as the parent.

..../index.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=3

and if i replace the index.php with the permalink of the page where i inserted the shortcode, it shows the content in the way i want it

..../testevent?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=3

does that make sense?

 ???

i dont think we support that currentl in our WP code.

if you can figure out what we need to fix that would be great. Most of the url construction code is at:

CRM/Utils/System/WordPress.php
