SOAP-based payment processor?

I'm looking at a new web-service based inteface for IATS that I've just received from them, they've moved to using SOAP/WSDL. From my initial research, it looks like it would be a pretty simple update to the code. I was poking around for another example, but it seems like no one else uses SOAP, which makes me think I'm confused or looking in the wrong place.

Question: Is no one else using SOAP in their payment processor?

Or will I have to bathe alone? [Eileen: there's your joke ..]

I made Drupal 7 commerce module, still have the CivICRM plugin on my TODO but looking forward to working in the new extensions framework.

Which payment processor are you working with/on?
