Activity Tokens
June 19, 2012, 01:58:00 pm
We are using cases to schedule volunteers. We have created a schedule volunteer activity and we would like to be able to have a custom template that says the activity date/time and then a couple of custom fields. Do I need to do this via a hook? I am not much of a php programmer, is there an example out there to just add an existing field as a token? I have seen the civicrm_token and the civicrm_tokenValues. I am not sure how to write the civicrm_token_value function.

Thanks!

You could create a profile with just the data you need? Or you could use the WebForm - CiviCRM integration if you are using Drupal. What is the reason you are contemplating using the token hooks? To my knowledge tokens are mainly used in mail or PDF letter templates?

I'd guess you won't need custom code, but you haven't provided nearly enough detail about your use-case for us to help you.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.
