Allow another contribution type to be included in an event registration payment

Hello.

I have been looking for a nice easy way to allow donations to be made along with event registration.

I understand something like this could be acheived with price sets, but from what I understand this will not create 2 different payment records.

I need the event registration to be recorded as a contribution type: event and the donation amount to be recorded as contribution type: donation.

All I am hoping to find out is this possible, within a single payment. Meaning the user only has to click pay with paypal once, and civi splits the IPN from paypal into two.

If it is not possible, then we will just have to get the user to make two payments.

Don't think it is possible - would be a good feature to contribute to getting developed if you have code/dollar resources for it

Just another question, is this possible with any of the payment processors? Or is the problem, the funcitonality isn't there on the civi side to handle it yet?

I've been looking for the same thing...I was hoping this was possible, but looks like it is not. I really hope this is a feature that is added soon or someone has a patch that can make it work, please post if you do :)
