Facebook Like error in petition
June 20, 2012, 08:44:13 am
Hi,

I set up a petition and everything works really well except when the user click the Facebook "Like" button. The error message I'm getting opens up in a FB dialogue:

"There was an error liking the page. If you are the page owner, please try running your page through the linter on the Facebook devsite (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/) and fixing any errors."

Upon running it through the linter I get the screencap attached. Not sure where to go from here but much of what we do surrounds social sharing and this would without a doubt impact the number of signatures we get.

Any help appreciated

We're finding the same problem on 4.1.5. Has this been fixed?  I noticed that no one replied to the original message from six weeks ago, so maybe it should get posted in the issue tracker.

Not fixed yet, nobody looking into it and nobody really caring as far as I can tell.

You might want to file an issue for this on bug tracker.

Last time I found a bug I was told to hire someone to fix it. The organization I work for does not have the funds. So it's pretty much a moot point for me in that case.

CiviCRM is an open source / community driven project so it helps if community ( you ) contributes in terms of fixes that are critical to you and may be less important to others. But said that.. it's great that you are reporting bugs. This helps in documenting current issues and may be some other organization with sufficient funding can contribute back patches for it when they check the reported bugs.

So thank you for reporting bugs here..
