Find Participants - Add to Group is Not an Option, but Smart Group is. A bug?

I'm noticing on 4.1 (demo site) that after Find Participants returns results it is not possible to add these participants to a regular (static) Group.  However it is possible to create a Smart Group.

Is there some reason for this, or is this a bug?

Funnily enough, just ran into the same issue on the CiviCRM site, checking who to invite for the CiviCRM sprint. So I  want to know too if this is by design and what the reasoning is  ;D

You can achieve the same using the contact advanced search & filtering on the event.

P.S. Don't think there is a specific reason, but that's one of the examples of the "too many ways to almost do the same thing". Might be worthwhile talking about it at civicon?
