Drupal and Wordpress files in Joomla install package
June 20, 2012, 06:56:10 pm
I installed the Joomla version of CiviCRM 4.1.3 and was surprised to find the following Drupal-related files and directories:

administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Bridge\OG\Drupal.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Core\Permission\Drupal.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Core\Permission\Drupal6.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Utils\Hook\Drupal.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Utils\Hook\Drupal6.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Utils\System\Drupal.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Utils\System\Drupal6.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\css\drupal.css
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\drupal
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\drupal\civicrm.config.php.drupal
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\drupal\modules\views\civicrm\civicrm_handler_field_drupalid.inc
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\packages\HTML\QuickForm\drupalwysiwyg.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\packages\kcfinder\integration\drupal.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\templates\CRM\Campaign\Page\Petition\SocialNetwork.drupal
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\templates\CRM\common\drupal.tpl
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\templates\CRM\common\drupal6.tpl

and the following WordPress-related files:

administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Core\Permission\WordPress.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Utils\Hook\WordPress.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Utils\System\WordPress.php
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\packages\jquery\css\images\openid\wordpress.ico
administrator\components\com_civicrm\civicrm\templates\CRM\common\wordpress.tpl

I assume that these can be safely deleted? Are there any others?

Hello Erich,

I'm Pretty sure that there is one version of CiviCRM that you are able to install with Joomla!/Drupal/WordPress, hence the "extra" files. I checked my 4.2.4 download (Drupal), it too has several files from Joomla! and WordPress. I haven't deleted them because they don't seem to be bothering anything, But if you want to try, I would suggest making backups of the folders they are in, just in case deleting them causes an unforeseen issue.

Cheers,
Jason

Actually, the archive you need to download is different depending on which CMS you need. Those files listed above I believe are core files that are indeed not relevant for other CMS's.

The core of CiviCRM works the same across all CMS's and is the same code, but the packaging is slightly different for each CMS. So the version of CiviCRM is the same, but the actual archive you would want to get from SourceForge is different.
