Can't enable CiviCRM 4.1 modules after successful install in Drupal 6.26
June 27, 2012, 02:54:54 pm
Oof, I don't know what's wrong here. I successfully installed CiviCRM 4.1 on our Drupal 6.26 installation. But in Drupal's modules, I'm unable to enable the CiviCRM modules.

Red x appears next to them instead of a check box, and the error messages for each CiviCRM module say:
"This version is incompatible with the 6.26 version of Drupal core."

According to CiviCRM's documentation installing 4.1 for Drupal 6.x , our system requirements should be compatible. The installation was successful. What is going wrong here?

I searched but couldn't find anything similar for CiviCRM 4.1 in the forums, only older 2.x versions, which were supposedly fixed from 3+.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you took the default Drupal files from SourceForge, but those are only for Drupal 7. There is a different package for Drupal 6 and you must use that one.

Oof, I think you're right! I made sure to download from "stable" and not latest, but see now that the tar file I downloaded does *not* have "drupal6" in the filename. Am checking that download out.

Such a simple mistake caused such headaches--thanks for the quick tip!
