Event does not post to calendar unless you refresh ical cache
February 26, 2008, 01:02:38 pm
This issue may be related to some of the other issues I've seen about ical/calendar, but I'm a little confused right now about exactly what those issues are. Our issue is that if you create a public event, it does not get added to the calendar unless you click on a day on the calendar, click on the ical tab and then click on submit. You don't have to change anything on that screen. All you have to do is click on submit and the even shows up on the calendar. Is there a fix for this or does it have to wait until the issues between ical and calendar get sorted out.

Thanks,
Cynthia

IMO, this is more of a drupal related issue, you might also want to check drupal forums.

Cynthia,

I don't think that problem you're describing lies on CiviCRM/CiviEvent side. Please check the contents of iCal feed from CiviEvent to make sure - if specific event that you just added is in there (while not being displayed in the Calendar),  it's most probably some settings or caching issue in Calendar.

To be strict about the subject of your message - CiviEvent doesn't post to Calendar. It's Calendar pulling from CiviEvent. :-)

Thx,
m

Thank you Michael. That was helpful, as I am new to open source/Drupal etc.. and have alot to learn.
