Database Cannot Connect - Installation Error
June 29, 2012, 09:29:29 am
I'm attempting to install CiviCRM to my Joomla 2.5 site and I'm getting the following error:

Cannot open mysql://databasename:databasepassword[~p@localhost/databasename?new_link=true: DB Error: connect failed

-> databasename = Database Name
-> databasepassword = Database Password

Database Version    5.1.63-cll
Database Collation    utf8_general_ci
PHP Version    5.3.13
Web Server    Apache
WebServer to PHP Interface    cgi-fcgi
Joomla! Version    Joomla! 2.5.6 Stable [ Ember ] 19-June-2012 14:00 GMT

I checked the mySQL and it supports INNODB. Also the PHP has been set to :

php_value memory_limit 128M
php_value register_globals off
php_value max_execution_time 600

Running on a VPS. Not sure what's wrong.
