do not find matching field
July 04, 2012, 01:58:09 am
Dear community,

I am about to import contacts to CiviCRM.
But in the drop down menu there is missing the field "employer" - why?

Thanks in advance,
Linda

thank you for the quick reply. But I didn't find a solution to my problem in the text.

In my drop down list is no line with anything like employer - do I have to chagne the settings of the fiel before I can import data?

Sorry - best,
Linda

After - related contact info - you should have "Employee of". This can be used to create relationship between Individual and Employee

Sorry, I guess I used the wrong word (I'm German) :-(

The field I do not find is maybe called "company" in English - ("Aktueller Arbeitgeber") - I'm talking about the field right under First Name, last name,... fields.

I was able to match all my columns to something in the drop down list - except for "company" - and I am just completely stumped why it does not appear in the drop down list.

Sorry for the missunderstanding and thanks!

i think it translates to 'current employer'

you should see a section of fields at the bottom under - RELATED CONTACT INFO -

you would then set your column of 'company' against 'current employee' then another set of fields will magically expand and you would want to select 'organisation name'

hope image below helps

Hi there,

great, worked! Thank you for your patience. I guess you just explained the same thing Kurundu already tried to explain to me. But I was just so fixated on finding sth like comany, empolyer, etc that I didn't think of this solution.

Thanks once again!

Best,
Linda

Cool - glad it helped - this comes up a fair bit so thought a screenshot might help. You can help pay this back by spotting other such requests and pointing them here ;-)
