Bug with Relationship Status in Relationship Report
July 06, 2012, 12:00:10 pm
Hi,

I'm trying to run a Relationship Report with the following parameters:

Relationship Type [is equal to] Spouse
Relationship Status [is equal to] Active

However, the listing of relationships it gives includes inactive relationships (inactive by virtue of the fact that they have End Dates in the past, ergo they show up under the Inactive Relationships heading when browsing relationships for the associated contact).

I can confirm this functions the same way on the demo site.

Is this a legitimate bug, or something I'm overlooking (like, for example, are the parameters in reports considered as part of an "OR" statement instead of the implied "AND" statement)?

Sounds like a bug.   I took a quick look at this report and the report parameters are combined with AND. It doesn't consider the expiry date at all. I suspect that some relationships that have expired do not have the is_active field set correctly - it doesn't get updated automatically by cron for example.
I think you should file an issue for this.
