How best to manage uploaded documents? WebFM, Drupal, CiviCRM?

Drupal 6 / CiviCRM 4.1.3

I am struggling with how best to manage uploaded documents for Organisations and Members. The documents need to be exposed on front facing Organisation and Membership Pages respectively. Ideally each organisation must be able to upload the files itself without staff intervention.

Any guidance or advice would be very helpful.

BACKGROUND AND USE CASE
  • Trade-type association with organisational contacts.
  • Each organisation has a set of uploaded 'organisational' files (e.g. Company Tax Certificate, Company Registration Certificate).
  • Each organisation may have multiple memberships, and each membership has related 'membership' files (e.g. Membership Agreements, Annual Compliance Certificates).
  • There will be a front facing website page for each Organisation, with
    • the organisation's contact details,
    • a list of the 'organisational' files (linked to the downloads),
    • a list of the memberships (linked to front facing Membership Pages).

  • Each Membership Page will show basic membership information (type, end date, status etc) plus a list of the 'membership' files.

I will use Views for the Organisation and Membership Pages, but am not sure how best to provide for the uploaded files.

As mentioned above I would prefer to allow each member to upload their own documents, and have them automatically attach to the respective Organisation and Membership pages.

There are times I love technology...and then there are times I *love* technology :-)
