When I use the api v3 to get profile data based on custom values, the api return the real form values instead of the (translated!) labels.

Not sure I understand what api you are calling. Could you detail?

Anyway, which version of civicrm are you using? We did realise that the translation on civi was fairly expensive (memory/cpu).

As far as I remember, we did disable it from the the api (that we wanted to be fast, especially for ajax calls), and we thought it wouldn't have any impact, wrongly it seems. Could you detail the api you call/use case to be sure we are talking about the same thing?

I don't recall if there is a param to force the translation.

Anyway, as mathieu did switch the translation to use the native gettext, It might not be such an issue anymore.

Eileen/erik, do you recall what was done/who did it?
