Event Registration Pages suddenly stopped working.

This site has been in production for about 2 months without any problems when all of a sudden event registrations simply stopped working...  :'(

On an event info page, when users click "register now" the page simply refreshes.
I see nothing in the debug logs....

Does anyone have any idea how to begin debugging this?  I usually have an error message to work with, this is a bit daunting.

Is there some kind of "default" event registration contribution page that admin users may have inadvertently messed with?

1. Check if you can go directly to the register page, i.e. civicrm/event/register?...

2. Check if anything changed with the web server config? any new apache modules / upgrades etc

1. I cannot access the registration pages directly, ie : http://brazilcham.com/civicrm/event/register?id=35887&reset=1   only returns the event info page.

2. No server side changes whatsoever, no modules or changes on the server side have been made.
I have a stage environment on the same server, with the same settings that has working registration links:  http://stage.brazilcham.com/civicrm/event/register?id=1098&reset=1


Is there any way to extract more information from civicrm as to why its simply bouncing requests for the register pages?

Resolved:

Users were reporting emails from a "phantom" personal contribution page (that they did not create) at around the same time event registrations stopped working.

In the DB, while the PCP table was empty, the PCP Block table had an entry. One of the admin users must have found a way to create "orphan" contribution pages, breaking the entire setup.

Once I removed this entry, registrations began working immediately.


Is there some known issue with orphaned PCP blocks? / Does anyone have any idea what could cause them?

wow, great detective work :) HOw did u even think about it / figure that one out?

not sure how an orphan pcp block existed?

Hahahaha I know right!

If users hadn't been reporting mysterious emails from campaign pages that didn't exist I would never have looked in those tables.

Thankfully the site-breaker and the nuisance were one and the same, this thing could have taken a HUGE effort to debug otherwise (and pissed of plenty of people) as I was devoid of any error/log messages to work with.
