Imcompatibility issues with WordPress Themes
July 21, 2012, 03:21:39 pm
I have spent a couple of months putting together a new WordPress Theme only to find that it was incompatible with CiviCRM 4.1 so now I have to build the site again with another theme.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences running CiviCRM with other WP themes, especially the WP theme/frameworks such as Genesis, Headway, or Thesis?

Might be better / easier / faster to find out what the incompatiblity is and fix those so others can also benefit.

For our testing and demo site, we use the default WP theme only. We dont have the energy and resources to try stuff with other theme frameworks. I suspect this will improve as the WP + Civi community grows

You are correct that trying to figure out the problem would be a great help.
There was a JS error that interrupted the JS functions and menus from functioning properly.
The developer of the theme (Expand2Web) had their team analyze it and determine that their theme was incompatible with CiviCRM and there was nothing else they could do about it.
I do not have the skill sets to analyze this any further either.
If I find out about other incompatibilities/compatibilities with WordPress themes, I will share them on the forum.

Might want to get more details from them about what was incompatible?
