Search Causes listall Error
July 21, 2012, 05:48:53 pm
I've gotten CiviCRM set up and installed on a  fresh WordPress site. I'm trying to get it going for my local community theatre.

Things have gone pretty smoothly except any time a real time search is started I get an error for utils on line 247. I'd love to post the full error but these incredibly crazy forum settings think I'm posting a link.

I've been trying to enter contacts and this makes it hard to associate individuals with households and whatnot because you need to search out the household or add a new one and you will get this error.

Thoughts? My profile is current with my in tall info.

without the error message its pretty hard to suggest anything. a few things:

1. Can you try and reproduce this on the demo server? http://wordpress.demo.civicrm.org/

2. Can you upgrade to Civi v4.1.5

3. Switch to using the default WP theme and see if that works

Paste it here http://pastebin.com/ and then post the link. You can't post an actual link but you can break it up with spaces or some such.

Can you look and see if you have this file:

/home/pmandl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/CRM/Core/DAO/.listAll.php

Well that is quite the "duh" moment for me Hershel. Those are hidden files and it appears Transmit doesn't recognize or transfer them unless you have "show hidden files" turned on from the view menu. Once I did that and transferred them it works correctly, thanks!

I did do the 4.1.5 upgrade out of this. VERY kludgy guys, I hope you are working on a way of making that easier for the WordPress masses (like using WordPresses upgrade capability would be fantastic).

As an open source project, contributions from various CMS users / integrators are much appreciated and definitely helps move the project forward.

We do hope that you as a developer/integrator/user is considering contributing back to make it easier for the wordpress masses :)

Seriously though, we do need a lot more involvement from the WP/Civi developers to take the integration and functionality to the next level. Its not going to happen if folks are  "hoping that someone else" does the work :(
