Who am I when I am using CiviCRM to send mail?
July 22, 2012, 07:15:34 pm
I understand what permissions I have when I log onto Drupal as admin.

But who am I am when I am in CiviCRM? and how do I control what access I have?

I am having problems sending mail ... test mail goes ok ... and when I enable logging the mail shows up in the mail.log, but when I disable logging the mail does not get sent.

I'm also confused about whether or not I have to have a cron job if I use the civicrm/mailing/queue?reset=1 (this was working on a test site but when I migrated to this new site it has stopped working although it shows that the mailing was completed.

My mailing was working after all although the mail I sent to myself was going to spam (I'll have to figure out why later.)

But my identity problem is still an puzzle.

Civi does not have the concept of a user. You are the drupal user and your permissions are controlled by your drupal roles

This isn't what I see. I see activity such as Scheduled and Sent Mailings where it lists the user who created and sent a mailing. Even though I have done all the mailings there are two different users listed (possibly because of the way I migrated the database from another site.) One is an individual and another is an organization. Neither name corresponds to a Drupal user.
