Synching Users to Contacts in Joomla 1.5 maps email address to name

When I did an initial sync in CiviCRM it mapped the user's email address in the Joomla database table to the Contact name in the civicrm one. Is there any way to change the way that works?

ACtually now that I look at it more closely, it didn't map anything to the Name section, the only thing it synced was the email address. why is that?

i reproduced this in Joomla 1.0.x and filed and fixed the issue here:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2755

not sure if Joomla 1.5 has the same table structure. so i dont know if this fix will work on 1.5 (which we are not supporting till CiviCRM v2.1)

Are the diff files b3 prior to change?  If so I will dump them in and test for you.

This will be part of the next beta release, or you can install from svn and test it that way. You can also check fisheye (http://biryani.osuosl.org:8181/browse/CiviCRM/branches/v2.0/) and incorporate the changes you need, though this is prone to error
