Submitting Refunds to Authorize.net
July 24, 2012, 01:48:41 pm
We are using the Authorize.net integration for processing donations - both single payment and ARB (auto-recurring billing). Occasionally, we will have a donor who needs a refund for double-payment for either method. As it currently stands, we have to cancel or mark refunds in both places.

We would really like to be able to cancel ARB subscriptions or submit refunds through the Civi interface and have it submitted and processed through Authorize.net, but it does not appear that the integration is that deep.

Is there any method or anyone that has set anything like this up?

The 4.2 version of civi has support to cancel ARB subscriptions for recurring memberships and contributions (i think). Might want to upgrade a copy of your site to 4.2 and test this out.

This is the issue for 4.2:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-10076

We dont have refund / cancels for single payments. Would be good to add that to the code base. Would you be interested in developing this feature and/or getting your organization to sponsor this feature? If i had to guess its a 50-75 hour project, but will save lots of organizations quite a bit of time and hence is probably worth it
