Thoughts on Setting Up "Prayer Lists" within CiviCRM?
July 25, 2012, 07:02:35 am
I've setup CiviCRM for our church - then I've setup records for each individual. Now I'd like to attach prayer requests and praise items to each individual and mark them as "answered" where appropriate. I'd also like to generate a report on occasion to get a list of all the open prayers/praises. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about how I could achieve this functionality within CiviCRM? I'm playing around with the system myself - but thought I'd try and get the opinion of a few CiviCRM gurus. =)

I would suggest you take a look at setting up an 'Activity' for this purpose.

I am not clear how you see people making these requests but Webform integration lets you create / update Activities with whatever Activity plus Contact fields you want

Yes, Activities sounds right. You could use statuses like "requested" and "fulfilled" if those make sense for your needs.
