Automating physical/postal mailings from CiviCRM
July 25, 2012, 06:35:55 pm
Has anyone considered automating sending hard-copy postal mailings from CiviCRM, such as by integrating CiviCRM with the API provided by http://www.postalmethods.com/ or other similar services?

The idea of this service is the end-user of an application can "print" a letter/invoice/document, which will trigger an API call to the "postalmethods.com" service. They will then create a hard-copy printed document and mail it via the postal service for you.   They offer different rates for postcards, letters, etc and pricing is tied to number of pages/postcards for US mail.  Seems like this would offer tremendous room for automation and save staff time for communicating with contacts who do not have an email ( or simply prefer hard-copy mail).

Is anyone aware of other service providers that offer similar services?
