I am having a problem to display the contact's image on the summary page or elsewhere (drupal views). This is reproducible on the demo site as well. The image has actually been uploaded and can be viewed with the full url, but not show up at all. The message when I save my edits on the contact page is:

Image could not be uploaded due to invalid type extension

. My image format is JPG, and size is less than 33 kb.

Do anybody know what's wrong here?

What I am trying to upload are staff pictures and the file names are something like this: Ben.jpg. couple files I uploaded a month ago worked actually. But when I tried to delete the working one ( the file was also not deleted ) and reupload it (uploaded actually) again to test, it did not show up. I can see the file names in the directory civicrm/custome are all ended with .jpg. And the image below was used on civicrm/drupal demo site. It did not work.

I've experienced a similar situation when creating a custom profile that uses Contact>Image URL as the field (which maps to the record summary that will show the image thumbnail). Whenever attempting to upload a legitimate jpg file (.jpg .JPG .JPEG and .jpeg) we get the same error but ONLY in IE7+. Anybody know why IE doesn't play nice with Civi for uploading images. The same image that results in error on IE successfully uploads in Chrome and FF. We're on Civi 4.1.2
