Packaging of 4.2 betas on Drupal.org stalled
July 29, 2012, 03:49:08 pm
The changes @lobo made to CiviCRM's packaging scripts are now working well.  The minimized version of the 4.2 betas are being downloaded to Drupal.org and bundled with Drupal core, the modules included in the .make, and the other, external libraries... w/ the exception of the PHPIDS.  The download is passing Drupal's whitelist validation, but failing to download for some other reason that will require someone on the Drupal.org's infrastructure team to get involved.  If you'd like to see this resolved sooner rather than later, please take a look at the .make...

the errors in the packaging...

add some feedback to this issue...

Thanks!

Packaging of 4.2-beta3 on Drupal.org working!
July 30, 2012, 05:40:54 am
This has been resolved.  The issue had something to do with the PHPIDS site's SSL cert.  Switching the whitelist to allow just http and changing the .make files resolved the issue.

Now we're down to testing the actual install process.  We're working with a few folks from the Prometheus Radio Project (http://www.prometheusradio.org/) today at the Community Media Drupal Camp (http://groups.drupal.org/node/245303).  Should be able to get several new people to review the starter kit documentation (http://drupal.org/node/1694794).

Using the easy install process for the starter kit (the process most non-drush using developers use) reverses the normal workflow.  CiviCRM has to be configured BEFORE you can complete the Drupal install process.

This is awesome news indeed :)

Once you have tested it a bit, would be great if you can do  blog post and let folks know about it, give them the needed links to the download / instructions etc
