I would like to make a hebrew translation
July 29, 2012, 11:20:42 pm
Hello,
I would like to make a Hebrew translation for the front end of CiviCRM.

I need technical help on how to do that (A to Z).
For example where do I find the text needed to be translated and how do I switch
it with the new one.

It's probably a good idea to add a "from left to right" and "from right to left" button
for the text editor for Hebrew is a right-to-left language.

Can anyone help me with that ?

Yoni

Hi,

I see you have found the Transifex page, and approved your request:
https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/civicrm/language/he/

It would be good however to contact the main translator in order to make sure you use as much as possible the same terminology. For example, in French and other languages, we have lexicons: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Translator+resources

Other relevant wiki pages:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Internationalization+and+localization
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/CiviCRM+Localisation
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Localisation+community+building+howto

And there is also a "internationalisation and localisation" tag on the CiviCRM blog. It's a great way to get more people involve, ask for feedback from users, etc.

Thanks for contributing back to the community!
