Emailing CRM mail lists from external clients

Can anyone tell me whether it's possible in theory to set up a mail list in CiviCRM that you can then email from external clients by sending an email to some given address from a personal GMail / Outlook, which then forwards the email to a mailing list that has been set up in Civi?

Hi,

For one client, we did a mailing list group -> mailman

So the list is a normal mailman mailing list that can be emailed from outlook, but where the list of emails comes from civi

That Mailman mailing list won't automatically be kept up to date though...

I'd actually be interested to know if anyone has an answer to Aaron's question as this would be really useful to many Civi users I expect...

Sorry, missed the message.

We sync the list from civi (master) to mailman. Unfortunately, we need more time that what we have available to share it and remove all the hardcoded stuff ;(

There is some good info here (http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC41/Mailman+synchronization), but I haven't made it work yet. But I'll keep trying. - John
